Publishing standards
Interesting discussion on FB tonight. My position is that I believe the industry holds to certain standards in the current market. Nothing that I have seen in action can dissuade me from this factoild. My opponent believes, if I have it correct, in a free for all. I am now imagining my editor’s ‘face on reading this. Fortunately, I am not at risk and am nowhere near the fallout zone. I greatly revere my editor for the standards to which he holds true. The universal standards.

This is what one lucky reviewer will be winning in the upcoming givaway for Darkspire Reaches. The competition will run for one month after the book launch on the 20th of March, or until I get 200 reviews, whichever comes first. (I wish). The winner’s name will be drawn at random from a hat and anyone can enter who has provided a review on Amazon for Darkspire Reaches of at least 40 words that demonstrate the book has been read without giving spoilers.

The first chapter of the book can be found in the Snippets section of my website. p>

To my beloved readers.
I am working on the sequel to Darkspire Reaches. It helps me if I see what you might like to see more of in this process. This is a big world with many possibilities and I would like to accommodate your desires. If you leave me a review, please put what you would like to see in the next book and I will try to make this so.

Thrilled!
So HBO, America’s most successful premium television company has an advert currently running with my little firedrake critter, Kryling, from Darkspire Reaches. Yes, he is the wrong color in the advert, which I am sure is an oversight on their part, but he is just how I imagined him.
As it happens, Kryling went live long before HBO aired their campaign, but even so, if you want to see one of the characters in my book, then look out for their advert. He is utterly adorable.
